Screening: The Summer Book (2025),
By director Charlie McDowell
Thursday, 18 June 2026 – 7pm
Institut finlandais

Based on Tove Jansson’s beloved novel for adults, published in 1972, the film tells the magical and life-affirming story of a girl named Sophia spending the summer with her grandmother on a small island in the Gulf of Finland. As the waves lap against the rocks, the sun shines and the trees grow, the tender, deep bond between them grows stronger with each adventure they share. On screen, the Finnish summer unfolds in all its authenticity and beauty.
