Cloud-wor(l)ds is exceptional evening dedicated to the atmosphere. Through art, science and climate data-driven technology, the event will explore the essence of clouds and their future. Speakers include the defender of cloud rights and writer of La fin des nuages, Mathieu Simonet, interdisciplinary artist Josefina Nelimarkka and curator of the Beyond the Horizon exhibition Stefano Vendramin. For the first time in France, this unique and immersive event will culminate in the multisensory experience combining art, atmospheric poetics and music played by singer Ringa Manner and musicians Matti Ahopelto and Tapio Viitasaari.

Josefina Nelimarkka is an interdisciplinary artist working with environmental questions and experientality combining artistic and scientific research. In her site-sensitive installations, she explores atmospheric phenomena and perception in collaboration with climate scientists and paleoclimatologists. Her work focuses on air and the symbiotic relationship between nature and technology through environmental data – creating multiple ways of sensing, knowing and being present.

Mathieu Simonet is a writer. His seventh book, La Fin des nuages, was published by Julliard in 2023. A former artist and research associate of Ateliers Médicis, he creates tools to help everyone feel entitled to write. He created Le Bal du silence and International Cloud Day, and in 2017, he directed the documentary Anne-Sarah K. about his best friend who lost her sight. He was also a lawyer for over twenty years.

Stefano Vendramin is an independent curator, Director of Programmes at Art of Change 21, and founder of STRATA, a platform and agency dedicated to contemporary environmental art. Previously, he was responsible for the Fondation Thalie podcast series “Creators facing Climate Emergency” and has worked at numerous leading arts institutions including la Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection, La Gaîté Lyrique, Asia NOW, as well as the digital design and innovation agency Publicis.Sapient.
