BAND is a comedy that features three women who give themselves only one year to become popstars. Each about to turn 40 years old, the women find themselves at the age of questioning. They are faced with having to juggle their artistic dreams, their friendship, and the pressure of motherhood.

Playing creatively with the documentary form, the film gives meaning to the disorder of life and finds resilience in rejection. BAND traces a story of triumphant sisterhood.

As part of New Nordic Cinéma Voices, a new event entirely dedicated to contemporary cinema from the Nordic countries, Institut finlandais is organising in collaboration with the Embassy of Iceland in Paris a screening of the film BAND by director Álfrún Örnólfsdóttir, in its auditorium on 29 June 2023 at 7pm.
