Mölkky French Open 2025 from 7 to 8 June in Nantes
The Mölkky French Open 2025 will take place in Nantes on 7 & 8 June. The tournament is open to everyone, from beginners to experienced players!
Do you know the origins of the game? Mölkky was created in 1996 by Tuoterengas, a carpentry company in Lahti, Finland, with a focus on recycling and waste optimization. Originally, the company, which was active in professional integration, produced bed legs for IKEA, generating wood scraps. In 1996, Jouko Pylväs and his colleagues had the idea of transforming this waste into a game, thus giving birth to Mölkky. The game was introduced in France in the Nantes region in 2004, and the first tournament took place on the Cours St Pierre in Nantes.
This year, SPAM will host the 16th edition of the French Open in Nantes for the first time. A national competition with approximately 400 teams, both experienced and novice players, will compete at the Plaine de Jeux de Sèvres.
