Johanna Konttinen (born in 1984) likes to experiment with all kinds of things in her art. She draws, paints, makes graphics, ceramics and textile sculptures. She describes her art as a colourful hotchpotch. The ideas for the works of art come from the past, such as children’s programs from the 90’s. Konttinen has been working in the Autism Foundation’s art studio since 2018. Konttinen’s chosen techniques for her art depicting tv-stars are drypoint needle and printmaking.

Come explore Konttinen’s world of cartoon characters from past decades on display in our gallery as part of the exhibition Imagine Everyday! Outsider Art Finland, in collaboration with Pertti’s Choice from 14 April to 13 July 2023.
