More about the designers and creators:
Archetype
Archetype is a Helsinki based clothing label focusing on Nordic minimalist style & natural materials. Their slowly evolving collection features basic, workwear inspired designs which make for long-lasting wardrobe staples. Their focus is on authentic, responsibly sourced materials and cherishing what surrounds us.
Keski-pomppu
Päivi Keski-Pomppu is a designer, interior architect, and goldsmith based in Helsinki. She creates high-quality jewellery using carefully chosen recycled precious metals and traditional working methods. Artisanship is deeply embedded in her designer identity, shaping her thinking in many ways. To ensure the longevity and timelessness of the collections, the products are made in small series with attention to the smallest details. Inspiration and ideas come to her from experimentation and her everyday surroundings.
Aure Ceramics
Helsinki-based ceramist Linnéa Aure handcrafts functional ceramic pieces and sculptural objects inspired by the serene simplicity of nature. For Aure, working with clay is essential. Every stage of the process is approached with care and intention to create mindful, sustainable products meant to be cherished and last a lifetime.
Paula Kasu
Paula Kasu is a Helsinki-based fashion designer, dressmaker and milliner specializing in bespoke pieces and ready-to-wear hats made from repurposed materials such as vintage braids, ribbons, and recycled textiles. Each design is handmade using traditional millinery techniques; the bases are blocked by hand, materials dyed, and every detail is gently shaped. Paula Kasu’s millinery is like sculpture-making. She is dedicated to incorporating a traditional approach into a contemporary context, and her fascinating silhouettes are displayed like small works of art with joie de vivre.
Terhi Pölkki
Terhi Pölkki creates timeless, beautiful and high quality shoes for women, with practicality and comfort in mind. From her first collection, it has always been clear to designer Terhi Pölkki that she wants to create pieces with a respect for people and nature. Not only because she loves to spend time outdoors, where she finds her inspiration, but also to take a stand for sustainability as a brand. Longevity is at the core of their work, focusing on timeless designs and long-lasting high quality materials like vegetable tanned leather. All their shoes are made in Europe, with many classic styles remaining in their collection year after year.
The collection is available at Institut finlandais from 17 January to 5 April, 2025.
