AALTO FASHION SHOWROOM – Emerging Finnish Design in Paris
Institut finlandais / 7–10 October 2026

This October, Institut finlandais opens its doors to the future of fashion. From 7 to 10 October 2026, Aalto University’s BA and MA graduates in Fashion, Clothing and Textile Design will present their collections in the Aalto Fashion Showroom, held in the continuation of Paris Fashion Week.

The showroom showcases fresh perspectives from one of the world’s top-ranked fashion schools. Aalto students have gained international recognition in major competitions such as the Hyères Festival, and many alumni now design for leading houses including Gaultier, Balenciaga, Celine, Saint Laurent, Dior, Maison Margiela and Louis Vuitton.

The showroom not only presents final thesis works, but also the portfolios behind them – tracing the creative process from first ideas to full collection. Visitors can explore how concepts evolve into tangible designs, while students gain exposure and connections in the fashion capital of Paris.

Far beyond trends, Aalto’s approach to fashion is rooted in experimentation, research, and responsibility. Digital and artisanal methods of making coexist and create new forms of craftmanship. This year’s graduates work is defined by strong design intuition, material sensitivity and unique worlds that represent their makers.

“The core is to make everyone feel comfortable and valued. From there, really diverse ideas come out – sometimes very abstract, sometimes very concrete. There’s always openness to what you can express with clothes.”
Lecturer Elina Peltonen, 1 Granary 31.10.2025

The Aalto Fashion Showroom is open to professionals from Wednesday 7 to Saturday 10 October 2026. In between professional visits, Institut finlandais visitors are also invited to discover the creativity and vision of the next generation of Finnish designers.
