Public Piano Masterclass with Tuija Hakkila at the Institut finlandais

Institut finlandais will host a public piano masterclass led by Finnish pianist Tuija Hakkila on 20 April 2026. The event will take place in two sessions, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at Institut finlandais, 60 rue des Écoles, 75005 Paris.

The masterclass is intended for advanced young pianists wishing to practice their instrumental work with an internationally recognized artist. Participants are free to choose their repertoire, and each will receive an individual 60-minute lesson.

The sessions are open to auditors. Audience members are invited to reserve one or two time slots, either 10:00 am–1:00 pm or 2:00 pm–5:00 pm, in order to attend the pedagogical work of the pianist. Audience members may enter and leave freely during the reserved time slot.

Trained at the Sibelius Academy and later at the Conservatoire de Paris, Tuija Hakkila studied with Liisa Pohjola, Eero Heinonen, Jacques Rouvier and Theodor Paraschivesco. Now Professor of Piano at the Sibelius Academy, she has built an international career as a soloist and chamber musician, with a repertoire ranging from Bach to contemporary music. She is also widely recognized for her recordings, including the complete keyboard sonatas of Mozart.
