Kristoffer Heikkinen (b.1992) has graduated as a furniture designer from Lahti Design Institute in 2017 and is currently carrying out his studies at Aalto University in Contemporary Design. For the last two years, he has been working as an industrial designer in a furniture company while participating in exhibitions with his own works and designing products for different companies as a freelancer. Products designed by him have been showcased at exhibitions in Milan, Stockholm and Finland.
Kristoffer has a very hands-on approach to creating. He notices getting absorbed in wondering how things and products have been made and how they could be improved. In products created by him, he aims to respond to a need and to solve problems in a simple and functional way. Experimentality and innovativity are characteristic for his design process, as well as the constant search for something new. His designs are simple, functional, long-lasting and recyclable.
