This June, Institut finlandais has the pleasure to host a masterclass by Sini Länsivuori. Dance artist and pedagogue, Sini Länsivuori brings up the essential points from the professional dance world that can resonate in everyone’s life. With easily accessible exercises the participants can learn how to be more present and aware of one’s full capacity.

The dance teaching method « Salon de Danse » is based on a holistic approach. The objective is to broaden the ability to sense and to be aware of every moment from small to a larger movement in the space around us. The practice helps also to balance the energy in body and mind and allows the person to use dance movement in an individual way within a guided structure.

The masterclass is divided into several parts. It begins with calm energizing movements and visualization that help to wake up the body and the senses to move in a more breathable and freer way. In the end, Sini Länsivuori has a guided improvisation task section, where participants can bring all the previously learned layers together. In her class, participants will learn to listen to their body and to be more aware of their full capacity and to have the freedom to experience their individual movement.
