Yoshimasa Yamada is a Japanese woodworker and architect based in Billnäs and Fiskars, Finland. He manages UUP, his own company located in the old water power plant in Fiskars. Inspired by his everyday work in the workshop and traditional carpentry, Yoshimasa Yamada designs utensils, furniture and buildings.

Having graduated with a Master’s degree in architecture from Tampere University of Technology and studying for his PhD, Yoshimasa Yamada has held several solo and group exhibitions and notably won the Finnish Habitare Design Competition in 2011.
