Perttu Saksa is a contemporary photographer and filmmaker. He attended the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts (MFA) and the Icelandic Academy of Arts (1999). He is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Aalto University in Helsinki. Perttu Saksa is a recipient of the Fotofinlandia Prize (2014), the most important photography award in Finland. His photography and video works have been shown in numerous galleries and museums around Europe, including Stadtgalerie Kiel and Felleshus Berlin, the Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki, City Art Museum in Finland and most recently at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma as part of the Ars Fennica -candidates’ exhibition. His works can also be found in various public collections, e.g. EMMA Espoo Museum of Modern Art and Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma.
Saksa was nominated for the Ars Fennica -prize in 2017. In 2018, Saksa’s proposal won the design competition for President Mauno Koivisto’s monument.
