Man Yau is an artist living and working in Helsinki. She graduated with a Master’s degree from the Aalto University of Art and Design specialising in ceramics and glass design. Yau has been nominated as a “Young Talent of the Year” by Helsinki Design Awards and her last show was at Kämp Garden, showing the works she created at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, as she was selected as a resident artist by the SCCP in cooperation with Finnish Institute in Japan. Her works have been presented in solo and group shows in Finland and at the Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, California, United States. Yau’s works thread finds its balance between traditional methods and craftsmanship and industrial, detailed form and quality. She is interested in presentation, artificiality, dexterity and contrasts.
